My Little Purse

Hello all, thanks for all your nice comments.

I have always been in awe of people who can just sit at a sewing machine and whip up something  wonderful and creative. I on the other hand sit at the machine and end up getting myself in a right state. Me and those bobbins just never got on. Then for Christmas hubby bought me this Singer sewing machine. (Old one was a Knitmaster and no manual ) . This one came with a manual and without all the bells and whistles. Just plain and easy. But in the cupboard it stayed only seeing the light of day to do a bit of zig zagging around a piece of linen etc.

So at the weekend, i got it into my head i was going to make a small purse with a zip. Remember now, this is me who cannot get on with a bobbin let a lone put a zip in. So off i went into You Tube world and with the help of iheartstring and The CraftyGemini i came up with this.

I'm so proud of this. I even got the zip done first go. And yes the zip opens and closes no problem. : )
The zip corners i need to work on, but i'm happy. : )

My aim is make a small bag with something that i have stitched on the front. But for now its practice, practice , practice.  : )

Well,  that's it from me folks
Thanks for stopping by.

A super finish, well done. My machine sits there looking at me, I really should pluck up courage and use it more!

What a cute little zipped bag! Congratulations on a wonderful finish. I have a love/hate relationship with my sewing machine, too.
